REVIEW 2011

Conference review, 16 June 2011

The quality of software has become indispensable for the success of a company. Any failure of software leads to a loss of revenue and reputation or increased costs. These are the issues that experts and experienced users discussed at the iqnite 2011 Suisse, held on June 16 at IATA Conference Centre in Geneva. Moreover this year the conference was a professional meeting place for directors, IT managers as well as division and quality managers from various branches who were looking for new ideas for their projects and organisations.

The iqnite conference started with a discussion of current challenges and recent trends in quality management and testing. Then Charles Similia, Axa France, introduced the test centre of the insurance company and explained how to deliver offshore testing services. This was followed by eight presentations and two workshops from Swiss experts and international companies like Capital Group, Credit Agricole, Generali, Intel, JP Morgan, Merck, Nagravision and Pictet & Cie. The Open Space session, where the attendees joined together in open working groups, demonstrated that this is a great format to discuss work-defined hypotheses, share ideas and exchange opinions. Finally, in his closing keynote, Robert Bonomo from UBS explained how to successfully set up a centralised test organisation.

The fact that all presentations were focused on experience reports lead to new inspirations for the attendees’ own software projects. Throughout the whole day an exhibition of software testing and tool solutions as well as quality services was provided the delegates with the opportunity to gain detailed information directly from the participating vendors.

Herewith, we would like to thank all delegates, speakers, programme committee members, sponsors, exhibitors and supporting organisations who have contributed to the success of this year’s iqnite 2011 Suisse.

For next year’s event the Call for Papers will be published by end of this summer. We are looking forward to receiving your submissions.

See you at the coming fantastic event – the iqnite 2012 Suisse, next June in Geneva!
