Conference review, 3-4 March 2009

The Irish Software Quality Conference was a great success this year with over 200 people in attendance at Croke Park.

We received excellent feedback from both delegates and exhibitors on the quality of the event, the profes-sional way it was organised and the presentations given. This further demonstrates the continued and grow-ing interest in delivering projects closer to the original estimates of time, function and value to the business through the implementation of quality standards and methods.

As the worldwide market for software and systems testing services gets to over $56 billion in 2013, Ireland needs to be able to compete at this level in both outsourced and in-house testing.Quality services will grow faster than most other IT services due to the cost efficiencies testing offers and the trend of testing ’smarter’ that began before the credit crunch hit.

Those companies that attended the conference are better positioned and more knowledgeable to step up to the challenges ahead.

We would like to thank all the delegates, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and the members of the Programme Committee, who have contributed to the success of this year’s event.

The Software & Systems Quality Conference (SQC) is blazing a new trail for know-how transfer in software quality assurance: next year, SQC is becoming iqnite. With the symbolic lighting of the fuse, we will continue to be a driving force for new trends, technologies and future strategies.

Catch fire and visit the iqnite conference on 20 May 2010 in Dublin.

Yours,

Phil Codd
(Programme Chair)
