Michiel van der Voort, The British Computer Society

In the role of international director, Michiel leads the BCS towards an international position. Michiel is responsible for the international strategy and the internationalisation of the BCS products and services. On behalf of BSC he is member of the executive team of the e-skills Industry Leadership Board. He is one of the directors of the SFIA Foundation. He was one of the founders of the European e-skills certification consortium.
The ambition of BCS is to be the global leading body for IT professionals. Professionalism in IT is one of the key topics for BCS. Certification and Continuous professional development are important elements of the professionalism program as run by BCS.

Michiel has a broad experience with international business, especially in Europe and the US. His interest in IT is broad and ranges from e-inclusion and certification of user skills to Green IT. In general his business interests are IT, IT as enabler, skills in general and international business.
